Can I analyze your quotes in Metastock or in other programs of technical analysis?
Yes, it is possible — MetaTrader allows to export on-line the current quotes in other programs using the Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) protocol. The DDE protocol transfers data between multiple applications under Microsoft Windows. Quotes are passed by the DDE protocol only as new ticks become available.
To activate the mode of exporting quotes from the clients terminal via the DDE protocol it is necessary to turn on the option «Allow DDE server» in the terminal’s settings.
Note: historical data are not transferred by the DDE protocol. The current quotes are passed only when the client’s terminal is working.
